Gold Farming Co. Aquires WoWHead
WoWHead has been sold to ZAM Network for $1 million. CEO Tim Sullivan of WoWHead.com says that ZAM Network offered them $1 million dollars for their database website, they have accepted the deal. The site provides players of World of Warcraft with locations of monsters, NPCs, items, spells and much more. They have sold the site to ZAM to spend more time playing WoW sources say.
ZAM Network is owned by Affinity Media, who also owns Thottbot, Allakhazam and MMO Interface. This will be the downfall of WoWHead, it was so good too. :'( ZAM Network itself owns gold farming company IGE and these gold ads will soon start to litter the WoWHead site, thank god for AmpWoW.
President of ZAM, John Meffei said that the "ZAM no longer owns or has any affiliation with gold farming companies such as IGE." IGE is the same company that is being sued in a class action law suit in a Florida court by wow gamers. He goes on to say "Neither WoWHead or ZAM have ever had gold or powerleveling ads and they never will, we sold IGE. We are clearly separated from those business practices." Anyone else smell that? Oh yes the smell of crap is upon us. Watch the flies swarm.
